Isle of Wight animal charity saves underweight swan from roadway

Friends of the Animals got a call about the bird, after it was spotted looking even worse for wear in Carisbrooke.

Two employees from the charity, Chris and Helen, participated in the junction of Whitcombe Road and Nunnery Lane, near the parking area.

A representative informed the County Press: “We were notified that the swan was in fact in the roadway, when we arrived it was on the turf brink beside the roadway however returned into the roadway and was not able to fly.”

Using a sheet, the employees had the ability to catch the swan and transportation it back to their Newport base, on Riverway.

Upon evaluation, it was considered to be underweight.
