Video proof confirmed Vasile Baltatu, 23, of Hawkins Close, Harrow, chasing the brindle and white bulldog with a blunt instrument on December 8, 2022 then repeatedly hanging him with it.
His pet Nero will be seen cowering underneath a car and heard yelping in ache.
Baltatu will be heard yelling “I’ll get you tomorrow!” at him.
Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) inspector Mike Beaman signed Nero over to the charity when he visited Baltatu’s home on January 5.
Baltatu pleaded responsible to inflicting pointless struggling to the canine when he appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on August 18 following a profitable investigation by the RSPCA.
On viewing the footage, which isn’t proven for witness safety, a vet stated: “There is nothing within the video to clarify or legitimise this use of power in opposition to the canine from a veterinary perspective.
“The translated transcript of the video exhibits that the proprietor is utilizing threats and expletives in opposition to the canine, and the phrase ‘I’ll get you tomorrow!’ makes me involved that this canine would proceed to face violence and hurt had it stayed with the proprietor.
“It is obvious from the transcript that the struggling he’s inflicting is disproportionate and appears to be pushed by malice.
“The brutality with which the person beats the canine means this is without doubt one of the extra excessive and unsightly items of proof I’ve examined as an RSPCA witness. I’ve very grave considerations about this man’s skill to take care of animals sooner or later.”
As nicely because the ban, Baltatu was sentenced to an 18-month neighborhood order together with 20 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR), 150 hours unpaid work, and fined £500 in prices.
Inspector Beaman stated: “The defendant’s behaviour towards his pet was totally unacceptable and disproportionate. Poor Nero couldn’t escape and was clearly terrified. We’re grateful to the person who contacted us with this footage so we could ensure Mr Baltatu was held to account.”
Nero has made a full restoration and has been efficiently rehomed by the RSPCA.
