The dying of a horse discovered “severely mutilated” in a Lincolnshire subject has sparked an RSPCA investigation.
The three-year-old gray stallion, often known as Tonto, was discovered by its proprietor with its genitals and an ear eliminated, at about 13:00 GMT on 22 December.
The RSPCA mentioned the “appalling” incident occurred off Whinbush Drive in Grantham.
A spokesperson urged anybody with details about the “sickening attack” to get in contact.
The spokesperson mentioned the animal, which was present in an “remoted spot”, was recognized to have been “extraordinarily pleasant and would comply with individuals across the subject”.
“When the proprietor final noticed Tonto on December 20, he was glad and wholesome. Sadly when he returned on Friday 22 December, Tonto had been mutilated and killed,” they added.
Following the incident the RSPCA has issued a warning to horse house owners within the space to be “further vigilant, given the nasty nature of this crime”.
