A tense coastguard rescue of a hillwalker and his dog in Glencoe will include in a Channel 5 program at the weekend.
Helicopter teams in Inverness were called when the man Chris and his Cavapoo Ally fell and toppled down an icy slope.
The drama functions in the next episode of Channel 5’s Coastguard: Every Second Counts, which will be evaluated on Sunday at 9pm.
How did coastguard help Glencoe hillwalker?
The Channel 5 program is a six-part series following the different callouts by the coastguard, consisting of helicopter occurrences, analyzing fishing trawlers and 999 mayday operations.
Coastguard teams in Inverness were hired April after the man was found with blood throughout his face by other hillwalkers.
Due to his precarious position on a snowy slope, he couldn’t be reached by the regional mountain rescue group.
So, a helicopter winchman needed to reduce himself onto the icy surface area in order to recover the man and take him to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
However, when they came to the scene they found Chris holding Ally, who had a fractured hips, inside a thermal blanket.
Unable to raise the dog into the helicopter, there was a heart-breaking separation in between the buddies while the animal was brought off the hill.
