A group from Greyhound Rescue Wales, which is based in Garnant, invested Saturday, August 5 climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in 19 hours.
The group were supported by volunteers and invested the very first part of their difficulty in downpour and extremely cold winds.
The group of staff, advocates and trustees raised more than £3,000 to help Greyhound Rescue Wales continue their work saving and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers.
Greyhound Rescue Wales CEO Tim Doyle said: “Greyhounds in Wales are dealing with a crisis with the extreme commercialisation of racing spreading out throughout the border from England. What an accomplishment by our 3 Peaks group, in our 30th year of operating, to raise money and awareness to help greyhounds and lurchers in requirement.
“As we receive no government or industry funding, it is the hard work and dedication of our supporters that means we can carry on fighting for the dogs who so desperately need our help.”
The money will go towards assisting the charity take care of and fix up the numerous dogs they care for each year and to raise awareness of the problems dealing with greyhounds and lurchers.
Greyhound Rescue Wales is likewise working towards its vision of a Wales without greyhound racing, as part of the Cut the Chase union with the RSPCA, Blue Cross, Hope Rescue and Dogs Trust.
