Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary President Gemma Atkinson has launched th the charity’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal so the animals on the sanctuary have a gift on December twenty fifth.

The Hits Radio host cuddled six-week-old Staffie pups which have been born on the positioning as she helped to kick off the annual enchantment. The 55-acre Edenfield sanctuary rehomes cats, dogs and small animals whereas donkeys, horses, goats, pigs, sheep and extra dwell out their lives there.
Gemma mentioned: “I love the Shoebox Appeal as it means animals at the sanctuary receive a present on Christmas Day. It’s amazing how generous people are and it’s extra-special for our animals to receive these treats. It was lovely to meet the puppies – I think my partner Gorka Marquez is scared I may take a couple home!”

For the Shoebox Appeal, it’s about making up shoeboxes with the next objects: For dogs, they will embrace Whimzees, Harringtons moist and dry meals, collars, fleece blankets, sardines, sizzling dogs and squeaky toys. For cats, they ask for Applaws tins, scratching posts or toys, cat nip, feather toys and kitten pouches. For stables, they request grooming brushes, deal with balls, salt/mineral licks and mints, ideally Polo Mints however not further robust. For the cattle, the record contains small animal water bottles, warmth pads, crackers, Weetabix, small pet bowls and pellet/nugget sort rabbit meals. Shoeboxes may be dropped off on the sanctuary or on the Bleakholt charity outlets in Ramsbottom, Bacup and Bury.
