PESHTIGO, Wis. (WBAY/Gray News) – Firemens in Wisconsin worked to save a dog that failed the ice of a river on Monday.
Soon after 10 a.m., a Peshtigo policeman reacted to the scene where they saw a dog running the ice on the Peshtigo River. Another dog, called Calvin, had actually failed the ice and was found by the officer, who then called dispatch and got in touch with the owner.
Peshtigo City Fire Chief Chuck Gardon stated they attempted to get a firemen out on the ice to conserve the dog, however it was too harmful.
