CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — One individual and an animal bunny were rescued from a burning home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Tuesday, the city’s fire department says.
The fire occurred at a home on O’Connell Drive Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters got here around 4 p.m. to discover smoke and fire rippling from the best side of the home. CGFD says the firemens put out the blaze within 10 minutes.
Firefighters discovered a man and his animal bunny in the basement of the home, and strolled them securely out of the building. Both were unhurt in the fire, and no firemens were hurt, CGFD says.
Including the time it required to put out the fire, followed by overhaul and examination, the fire department says systems were at the scene for about 4 hours.
While the fire was put out rapidly, it did trigger moderate damage to the home. The fire department approximates the flames and smoke triggered $50,000 worth of damage.
The examination into the fire is continuous by CGFD and the Cape Girardeau Police Department,
