Falmouth coastguard rescue group have once again advised dog owners to keep their animals on leads near cliffs after needing to save a fallen spaniel.
The group, in addition to Porthleven Coastguard Group, were contacted us to ‘ Middle Point’, near Falmouth at 3.40 pm on Monday, December 5 after getting a report of a dog reviewing a cliff.
Once they got here, it was found that a spaniel had actually discussed a cliff having vanished following a walk in close-by woods.
Staff member rigged the rope rescue devices and a professional rope rescue specialist was reduced to the dog and put it in our animal rescue bag. Both dog and specialist were securely recuperated to the top.
The dog was put back into the care of some really grateful owners.
Following the event the coastguard group published on its Facebook page: “It goes without stating, please keep canines on leads around cliffs.
” In this case the owners did the best thing when they understood that the dog had actually discussed the cliff. They didn’t put themselves in risk and called 999 and requested for the coastguard.”.
