Start Rescue representative Warren Brauns said the emergency situation service got a call from Mobi Claw 911 for help with the rescue of a citizen’s dog called Xena, which was stuck roughly 50m down a cliff face along the Palmiet River in Westville on Saturday afternoon.
He said that, owing to the precarious place of the dog, the Start high-angle group was triggered for the rescue.
Brauns said that, on arrival, gain access to was obtained by means of a Westville property running along the cliff side, where an evaluation was carried out.
