Residents from Dorchester’s Maiden Castle House care home have completed their half for an animal charity in Wareham.
The charity was chosen by Care South, the not-for-profit which runs Maiden Castle House, because the latest beneficiary of the Chairman’s 2020 Fund.
It was established to provide again to group teams, companies and organisations which immediately profit Care South’s residents and employees.
Joining the residents to current the cheque have been Penny Sargeant, board secretary for Care South, in addition to Maiden Castle House supervisor Ashley Smith and actions lead Emma Norman.
Penny mentioned: “At Care South, the residents in our care vastly profit from their visits to fulfill the animals at Margaret Green Animal Rescue, as nicely it bringing again pleased reminiscences of the pets they’d all through their lives.
“We’re so pleased that we could give something back to support the fantastic work that the charity do to look after animals in need of re-homing.”
Sybil, who lives at Maiden Castle House, mentioned she was impressed with the rabbit enclosure and the thought that had gone into making it a pleasant home for the animals.
And Joan, one other resident, mentioned: “It’s a lovely place for the animals to live before they’re adopted.”
Nigel Mason, chief govt of Margaret Green Animal Rescue, added: “The residents from Care South’s houses at all times arrive with large smiles on their faces.
“They sit up for seeing all of the animals right here and making a fuss of them.
“We’re thrilled to receive such a generous donation from Care South, which will go towards helping all the animals in our care.”
Maiden Castle House offers specialist residential, respite, and dementia care, with a every day programme of occasions and communal lounges overlooking a landscaped backyard.
