Dog saved from Stittsville pond after entering into the water while chasing after geese

Ottawa firemens saved a dog that wound up caught in a freezing Stittsville pond while attempting to go after some geese.

Emergency situation teams reacted to a call at the pond in the location of Fernbank Roadway and Shea Roadway simply after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Ottawa fire states a 911 caller reported a dog remained in the pond after it broke away from its owner, which the dog’s owner had actually entered into the water trying to save the dog.

A city of Ottawa worker in the location assisted the owner leave the water by the time firemens showed up on the scene, however the dog was still having a hard time to leave the water, Ottawa fire stated.

“Our water rescue techs dressed to go rescue the dog,” Ottawa fire stated on Twitter, explaining the pond as 300 ft. by 400 ft.

“An Ottawa Fire Water Rescue Specialist was connected off and made their method into the water with an animal control pole to help reach their animal and to separate a few of the ice along the method,” Ottawa fire stated in a media release.

“At 14:30, the dog was saved out of the water and securely reminded coast.”

Firemens likewise evaluated the dog’s owner for injuries on coast.
