Police officers were contacted us to an abandoned vehicle in Braintree with a dog that had actually been left within.
When officers went to, regardless of knocking on all the close-by homes the vehicle owner could not lie.
Working with Braintree Council, the dog was rescued and required checked out by a veterinarian.
An Essex Police representative said: “Please do not leave dogs in cars since even in April they can get really hot inside.
“Thank you everybody who highlighted water and food.”
A Braintree Council representative included: “We deal with Essex Police – Braintree District on a collaboration basis and we help each other to keep the district safe for both people and animals.
“Please do not leave dogs in cars, it can quickly end up being too hot for them and make them unhealthy.”
