Police were contacted us to the vehicle in Braintree after a dog was left within.
When officers went to, regardless of knocking on all the close-by homes the vehicle owner might not lie.
Working with Braintree Council, the dog was rescued and required checked out by a veterinarian.
An Essex Police representative said: “Please do not leave dogs in lorries since even in April they can get really hot inside.
“Thank you everybody who highlighted water and food.”
A Braintree Council representative included: “We deal with Essex Police – Braintree District on a collaboration basis and we help each other to keep the district safe for both human beings and animals.
“Please do not leave dogs in lorries, it can quickly end up being too hot for them and make them weak.”
