Puss Cat, Holly and Ellie are among the growing number of homeless cats at the National Cat Adoption Centre in Chelwood Gate.

They have each been in care for over three months and have been repeatedly overlooked by potential adopters, said the charity.

Adoption centre manager Danielle Draper said: “There is an unprecedented demand on our services at present, which is causing us real concern as any slowdown in homing could lead to other cats having to live in unsuitable conditions for longer. While we understand taking on a cat is a big commitment, we urge anyone thinking of getting a new feline friend to take a look at our website or get in touch – we may well have the perfect cat for your home. These three cats in particular have all been overlooked for one reason or another, so we’d truly like to get them embraced as quickly as possible.”

Holly is a 12-year-old whose previous owner passed away. While in care she underwent an operation to remove one eye and recovered fully. The charity said is sweet natured and affectionate but would like a quiet home because she can be shy.

Ellie is 14, fond of being petted and has a playful side, said Cats Protection. They said she does not tend to wander far from home and would enjoy having a garden. She is also used to having a ‘reasonably quiet’ home.
