The Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Humane Pennsylvania will be taking part in NBCUniversal Local’s 2023 Clear the Shelters animal adoption and contribution campaign,
The ARL will be using totally free adoptions on Saturday, Aug. 26 at its Cumru Township shelter, 58 Kennel Road. Available animals can be seen online at berksarl.org/pets/ and the ARL kept in mind the website is upgraded every 12 minutes.
“The adoption fee will be waived for all animals available for adoption at the shelter,” a declaration launched Tuesday by the ARL. “All adopters must go through the ARL’s regular procedures to adopt, including completing an adoption profile and speaking with an adoption counselor to ensure that the pet they select is a good match for their home, family, and lifestyle.”
The ARL will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the waitlist to satisfy animals closing at 4:30 p.m.
Potential adopters must sign in at www.berksarl.org/hello when they get here to be put on the virtual wait list and will be informed by text when an adoption therapist is available to meet you and your family.
The ARL says all relative must pertain to satisfy the brand-new animal at the time of the adoption. Dog adopters will require to bring $7 money or look for a Pennsylvania dog license, which is needed by law, and a leash and collar. Cat adopters must bring a provider. Leashes, collars and providers are available for buy from the ARL.
“This is the ninth consecutive year NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations are partnering with affiliate stations and animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption and raise funds for animal welfare,” the ARL said. “Since its inception in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 860,000 pets find new homes.”
Humane Pennsylvania will be using fee-waived adoptions Friday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 27 at its shelters at 1801 N. 11th St., Reading and 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. The Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving in Reading and Lancaster Center for Animal Life-conserving will be open for adoptions in between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day. The Humane PA adoption costs will be covered by Rawden Joint Ventures, a McDonald’s franchisee owned and run by Stephanie and Christian Rawden that has 53 dining establishments situated in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, a declaration from Humane PA launched Tuesday said.
“All potential adopters are required to go through Humane Pennsylvania’s diligent adoption screening process (approval is not guaranteed),” Humane PA’s declaration said. “Some exclusions may apply. ”
Humane Pennsylvania’s adoptions consist of a 30-day health supplement, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, flea treatment, microchipping and chip registration, and 1 pound bag of Science Diet pet food.
Humane PA said the 2022 Clear the Shelters campaign holds the single-year record with more than 161,000 adoptions throughout the nation which almost 1,400 animal shelters and saves covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam took part in 2015.
Clear the Shelters is a yearly, across the country animal adoption campaign run by NBCUniversal Local, a department of NBCUniversal.
