The founder of an animal charity says he’s had to ‘evacuate’ the capital of Afghanistan following claims made in Prince Harry’s new book.

Extracts from the royal’s memoir, ‘Spare’, have been doing the rounds this week, with many shocked to learn about his sex life and time in the military.

However, while most have been fascinated by the revelations, a former British Marine says she’s had to leave Kabul for fear of reprisals as a result of Harry’s book.

Recalling his time fighting in Afghanistan, the Duke of Sussex writes that he killed 25 members of the Taliban.

He says: “It wasn’t a statistic that filled me with pride but nor did it make me ashamed.

“When I was plunged into the heat and confusion of battle, I didn’t think about those as 25 people. You can’t kill people if you see them as people.

“In truth, you can’t hurt people if you see them as people. They were chess pieces taken off the board, bad guys eliminated before they kill good guys.

“They trained me to ‘other’ them and they trained me well.”

Pen Farthing has since come out and blasted the prince for putting his life, and the lives of other ‘ex-forces’, in danger.

Writing on Twitter, the 53-year-old said: “Well I was a Royalist until today…. Cheers #PrinceHarry You have been very badly advised I would probably say.

“And glad you thought through the security implications of those of us still out in #Afghanistan trying to bring about some good. #idiot #notmyprince.”

He later added: “To the idiots who made dumb**s comments in support of #PrinceHarry in my tweet, know I have had to evac from #Kabul tonight in case of potential reprisal attacks on ex-forces people like me in the wake of his badly judged memoir.. the animals suffer not me. You happy?”

When asked how Harry’s book could possibly have any impact on his safety, Pen said the Taliban would be looking for revenge over his claims.

He explained: “Because the Taliban are now the ones in power and their measured response was the Taliban he killed had families & every media outlet in the world is promoting it…

“Which now makes ex-forces a potential target for a revenge attack especially those on their own with no protection.”

Pen is not the only one to come out and criticise Harry over his comments.

Retired army veteran Col Tim Collins said: “Amongst his assertions is a claim that he killed 25 people in Afghanistan. That’s not how you behave in the army; it’s not how we think.

“He has badly let the side down. We don’t do notches on the rifle butt. We never did.”
