Canberra Pet Rescue vandalised by intruders, forcing not-for-profit to halt some operations

Not-for-profit Canberra Pet Rescue has been left to rebuild after vandals trashed its headquarters on Tuesday night time.

The charity’s president, Amanda Doelle, stated she was “completely heartbroken” after the location within the Canberra suburb of Curtin was left with “hundreds of {dollars} price of injury”.

“There was glass in all places, there was urine in all places, it was simply utter mayhem,” she stated.

“Everything of ours was destroyed, nearly.

“We’re simply devastated, completely heartbroken. It was actually onerous to see.”

Due to the numerous harm, the charity  — which is run by volunteers and takes in deserted, uncared for or surrendered pets — stated it had been compelled to halt a few of its operations.

Ms Doelle stated the objects that had been stolen and destroyed all had folks ready to obtain them.

“People want the assistance, our carers want the stuff [and] we do not have it to present to them anymore,” she stated.

“They stole heaps of pet meals, bedding, cages, medical provides, all of our fundraising objects, merchandise, gazebos, chairs, cat stands.”

She stated the charity didn’t know the place to go from right here.
