Blaze discovered once again after almost 2 months missing out on in Vero Beach

Blaze, a German Shepherd who went missing out on 7 weeks earlier after being discovered stranded for 4 days on Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary at Riverside Park in Vero Beach, is back home with his brand-new owner.

Blaze was discovered Friday by county animal control officer Rick Hall and securely given Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County for a complete examination.

“We more than happy to report that he is healthy and home resting,” the Humane Society published on Facebook. “We were so happy to be able to offer Blaze’s mother with a GPS collar — simply in case.”

The family pet rescue thanked animal control, the neighborhood of Vero Beach and Indian River, and its staff.

“We are over the moon for Blaze and his owner!,” according to the Facebook post.

Brittany Norair, Blaze’s owner, posted to Instagram, that Blaze “requires perseverance and to do things on his own terms. … Slow and consistent my boy 🤍 Trust initially, the rest later on.”

Nortair, who is a friend of among the Vero Beach officers who assisted discover him, embraced him on March 16,the same night he ran away again.

The dog, approximated to be 6 years of ages, was successfully trapped by the Vero Beach Police Department’s big dog trap on Feb. 28.

Animal Control established a trap with some treats inside it.

“There’s a couple tracks and campsites you can’t get to, the majority of the island,” Chris Woodruff, owner of Vero Tackle advertisement Watersports, said. “As we would get closer, it would simply run under the brush and there’s no chance we get to it.”
