Sangareddy: Volunteers of the Ameenpur-based Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS) on Tuesday took a trip 160 kilometres to rescue a street dog that fell in an abandoned open farming well, which had to do with 60 feet deep and situated in Mailaram town of Sirikonda mandal.
According to AWCS volunteers, the dog had actually fallen under the well 2 days ago while roaming in the location. After hearing the dog weeping, villagers called the AWCS helpline – 96978 87888. Volunteers Sanjeev Das and Romen Das left for Mailaram on Tuesday early morning.
After a three-hour-long journey, they reached the location and discovered the dog starving in the well.
They then reduced a container connected on a rope with water and after it had actually consumed water, they pulled it up after protecting a rope around the dog. Sanjeev and Romen then fed the dog and launched it in the town.
