Animal Charity of Ohio has announced on Monday the purchase of a new building.

The new building will be located at 8649, Southern Boulevard in Boardman.

The need for this new building arose in 2020 with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic. Estimates were made that there would be a substantial increase in animals needing to be rescued and brought into Animal Charity for services.

After removing some furniture, getting storage units and rearranging the building, there was still a substantial need to move into a bigger building to accomodate for the increase in animals coming in.

In 2022, Animal Charity brought forth the plan to purchase the new building and just last week, the organization successfully closed on that building and are set to make it their new home.

However, at the time of the purchase, Animal Charity did not have the funds to cover the cost of the building, so they instead took out a loan from a bank. The organization says this was the only way to continue its service of these animals.

Animal Charity is currently accepting donations towards its building fund, which would help the organization pay for the building and necessary expenditures to make it a safe, effective and operational space.
