An Aberdeen-based animal shelter has quickly halted its pet meals financial institution service following a “critical incident” involving one among its workers members.
The police are at present dealing with the scenario at Mrs. Murray’s Home for Stray Dogs and Cats in Seaton, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
The charity posted on Facebook: “We have sadly needed to take the choice to droop our pet meals financial institution service with rapid impact.
“The security of our workers is a precedence and as soon as measures are in place and we are able to resume our work in the neighborhood safely, we are going to begin this service, albeit in a distinct format.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, but please bear with us during this time.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman added: “At round 12.20pm on Wednesday September 20, we obtained a report of a disturbance at Brickfield, East Seaton in Aberdeen.
“No-one was hurt. Officers are following a positive line of inquiry.”
The closure has exacerbated considerations about animal welfare amid rising residing bills.
It coincides with a fourfold improve in pet relinquishments in Aberdeenshire over the previous yr, as reported by the SSPCA.
