Eddie the Staffy entered the care of the Caithness and Sutherland rehoming centre at Balmore after being discovered abandoned in October 2022 when his owner moved far from a property in Skye and unfortunately left him behind.
An SSPCA publication mentioned: “Eddie was rescued and required to our Caithness centre where our group were all set and waiting to shower him with love and attention.
“A charming eight-year-old kid, he enjoyed being the centre of attention however in some cases dealt with relaxing himself down. Our group invested a long time dealing with his good manners and were delighted when Eddie was discovered by Sue and Peter, who were dropping off contributions at the centre and identified him on his walk.
“Never having had a Staffy in the past, it was love at very first sight for the couple who then took Eddie home to be a part of the family.”
Eddie now lives a picturesque life by the sea in Reay. He likes his toys, specifically his balls, and brings one around every day on his strolls prior to heading home and climbing up onto the couch for a snooze.
The animal rescue and rehoming centre in Caithness and Sutherland began life as a family home and steading. It opened in 1994 following a remodelling job which saw structures transformed in to a workplace, kennels, cattery, little animal room and veterinary location. Providing a haven for rescue animals throughout the north of Scotland.
The SSPCA presently has a fundraising obstacle called Move it in March that intends to get individuals active while assisting Scotland’s animals.
Move it in March stumbles upon the entire month of March and challenges individuals to finish 161 miles to match the 161 animals the SSPCA rescue in a single day. That’s simply over 5 miles a day.
The SSPCA says: “We desire you to move it your method – whether you select to stroll, swim, cycle, run or do any other activity to reach your target. We kindly ask that, while getting active and finishing your ranges, you fundraise for the Scottish SPCA and help animals in requirement.
“Whether you are swimming for our seals, treking for our hedgehogs, and even canoeing for our cats, the activities you total and funds you raise will play a substantial part in assisting our officers rescue animals and provide the care and attention they should have.”
