WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – A Wichita animal rescue is now attempting to help the family of a man who passed away in a surge and fire in Southwest Wichita over the weekend.

Beauties and Beasts are returning to Kendal James’ family who offered with the group.

Beauties and Beasts state Kendal James and his other half Kelly would go there when they rescued animals or see what they require aid with.

And, of the 4 dogs that passed away because fire. One was an animal the Jameses were looking after for the group up until it discovered the dog a long-term home.

“I’ll cry just because there was nobody quite like those two when they would go out there together, they loved each other,” said Randi Carter, Vice President of Beauties and Beasts Animal Rescue.

Beauties and Beasts Vice President Randi Carter explains just how much Kendal James and his other half Kelly delighted in offering and conserving animals.

“Kendal, he was just a character, a larger-than-life type of person,” said Carter.

“I met his wife first. And one of the dogs that actually passed away in the fire was the dog that actually brought us all together,” said Carter.

Carter says Kendal and Kelly made offering a family affair. They would head out and save dogs even in the middle of the night.

“He truly loved, I think being a hero. He enjoyed that. I could tell that when he would go out and he would get these dogs and get them to trust him, he loved it,” said Carter.

Beauties and monsters animal rescue is now attempting to help Kendal’s other half Kelly by developing a GoFundMe. Carter says what took place over the weekend becomes part of the catastrophe the family has actually handled recently.

”Kelly lost her daddy and after that Kelly turned right around and lost her mom. So she was countered to back with these. And Kendal existed certainly with Kelly to make it through that, and now she’s lost what she had actually left,” said Carter.

“And they buried the mother the day prior to your house blew up,” said Carter.
