IT’S been another busy day in the January transfer window as Scottish clubs battle to get deals over the line before it slams shut.

Rangers boss Michael Beale has been very open about his recruitment ambitions and is set to unveil Todd Cantwell. The Light Blues are also interested in Morgan Whittaker and Nicolas Raskin as well.

Table-toppers Celtic got the January ball rolling long before the old year ended with Canadian international Alistair Johnston and J-League stars Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi arriving at Parkhead. Josip Juranovic has sealed his move to Union Berlin, and Giorgos Giakoumakis could follow him out the Parkhead exit door – and could Oh Hyeon-gyu be the next big signing instead of Cho Gue-sung?

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is another of the busier managers. Australian international Guarang Kuol arrived last week to add to fellow new-starts James Hill and Yutaro Oda at Tynecastle.

Ryan Porteous is expected to leave Hibs before the end of the window with clubs in France, Italy and England looking at him but he’s still around Easter Road to welcome new signing James Jeggo.

Aberdeen made two signings in one day in the first week of the window, with Graeme Shinnie’s return the highlight, but other than that have been fairly quiet. Could that change after the 5-0 loss to Hearts or before the dangerous trip to Darvel?

He’s also struggled for game time since Nathan Jones’ appointment as manager, and the St Mary’s gaffer has been addressing that very situation.

He told the Daily Echo: “We’ve got a lot of midfield players, a lot of people. So we’re just trying to find a balance in there where we get the best out of everyone. • Daws-in

Wolves’ busy January has continued with the arrival of experienced defender Craig Dawson.

The 32-year old heads to Molineux for £3.3million and he’s penned a two-and-a-half-year contract.
