OTTAWA — Smoky, hazardous air is settling over parts of western Quebec and eastern Ontario today and the variety of forest fires burning throughout Canada is sneaking greater as soon as again.
The Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre says there are 465 fires burning throughout the nation, consisting of 240 that run out control.
That’s up from 420 fires burning one week earlier, mostly due to a boost in fires in Alberta and Ontario.
Nearly 72,000 square kilometres of forest land has actually burned this year up until now, a location almost 4 times the size of Lake Ontario.
