Health Minister Jason Copping says the boost in post-secondary health-care training program areas will help resolve staffing requirements and build a more powerful health-care system.
The programs getting financing were selected based upon labor force requirements, student need and institutional capability, to name a few requirements. Health care, innovation and business are the existing concern sectors.
The University of Lethbridge is getting $1.9 million for its bachelor of nursing program with Lethbridge College, $1.7 for its bachelor’s degree computer technology program and $363,000 for its graduate certificate in information science program.
