Liverpool are interested in signing Manchester United top target Frenkie De Jong, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
The Netherlands international, 25, was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, but the transfer window closed with the playmaker staying put at Camp Nou.
De Jong has made 10 outings for the Spanish outfit this season, including seven in Spain’s top flight, but he is not a nailed on starter for the Catalan giants, with manager Xavi Hernandez preferring a midfield-three of Sergio Busquets, Gavi, and Pedri in key matches.
The Dutchman is thought to be unhappy with his current situation and could seek a January exit, while Barcelona are believed to still be keen to offload him to alleviate their financial woes.
