Man killed after ‘unprovoked attack’ at Harold Wood station

A person has been killed in an ‘unprovoked’ attack at a railway station in East London.

The British Transport Police (BTP) mentioned a homicide investigation has been launched after the incident, which occurred at Harold Wood in Romford simply after 4.30am at this time.

A member of employees on the station, situated within the far east of town close to the border with Essex, noticed the person badly damage on the ground.

Emergency companies had been known as, however he was pronounced useless by London Ambulance Service on the scene.

The BTP mentioned a person has been arrested in reference to the incident and stays in police custody.

A witness instructed Metro there have been 10 or extra police autos on the scene this morning.

The space round Harold Wood station on Gubbins Lane has been closed off as investigators proceed their work.

National Rail has introduced that no trains will name there till the top of the day.

Harold Wood station is situated between Gidea Park and Brentwood on the Elizabeth Line.

Detective Chief Inspector Sam Blackburn mentioned: ‘This act of unprovoked violence was despicable.

‘The investigation remains in the early stages, and although though we are satisfied that this was an isolated incident the station will remain closed while we continue our enquiries.’

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service mentioned: ‘We were called at 4.29am today to reports of an incident at Harold Wood Rail Station, Romford.

‘We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.

‘Our first medic arrived on scene in five minutes.

‘Very sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.’

Transport for London shared on X, previously Twitter, that Harold Wood station has been shut whereas police responded to the incident.

Gubbins Lane has been closed each methods between Station Road and Oak Road too.
