The Design Guild Mark has opened entries for the 2024 awards, and is inviting designers and corporations to submit entries for 3 classes: Furniture; Lighting; and Interior Design Elements.
The competitors is open to British designers working within the UK or overseas, and designers with UK-based design practices.
Submissions might be for a person product or a set of merchandise which are at the moment in manufacturing, that have been designed for, and are manufactured by, an industrial design course of. The designs might be meant for home, workplace, hospitality, instructional or company use, and for each inside and exterior environments, and there’s no restriction on when the design was launched.
The Design Guild Mark is a non-profit award programme, established in 2008 by The Furniture Makers’ Company to boost the profile of British industrial design and to recognise excellence on this self-discipline. It is exclusive as a design award, as candidates are required to current their precise piece in individual throughout a judging day to permit for a dialogue between the judges and for any inquiries to happen.
The panel of impartial judges are world leaders of their subject, and convey a wealth of information and expertise to the analysis course of.
Designers and corporations have till twenty fourth November 2023 to submit an entry to satisfy the early hen deadline, and till nineteenth January 2024 for the ultimate deadline.
Rodney McMahon, chairman of the Design Guild Mark, says: “The variety and quality of designs, from both established and aspiring designers, applying for the Design Guild Mark is always stimulating. We now have three different design strands we hope will attract an even broader range of applicants and ensure that the award of a Design Guild Mark continues to be something to which to aspire.”
