OTTAWA — A legal representative says Canada will not repatriate a Quebec female being kept in Syria with her 6 kids since authorities think she postures a security danger.
Lawyer Lawrence Greenspon, who has actually been working to bring the female home, says he was encouraged of the choice just recently by Global Affairs Canada.
He says the department composed June 21 that the female has “extremist ideological beliefs” that might lead her to act strongly, and the federal government cannot make sure no such conduct happens.
Greenspon says the reason is incorrect and inappropriate, arguing the federal government might handle the female as required through Canada’s justice system.
