Rupert Murdoch, some of the influential and controversial figures within the media world, is stepping down as chairman of his Fox Corp. and News Corp. empire following a virtually seven-decade profession. Murdoch, 92, served as an unabashedly conservative voice with possession of newspapers within the US, UK and right here in his native Australia. His son Lachlan Murdoch, 52, takes over as sole chairman of News Corp. and can proceed as government chair and chief government officer of Fox.
