EDMONTON, AB – The provincial federal government is waiving the cost for wildfire evacuees who require to change their recognition.

Evacuees of the Alberta wildfires who lost or left their Alberta driver’s licence, ID card or birth certificate in between April 29 and up until June 29 will have the ability to change these files totally free of charge. Evacuees need to go to a computer system registry representative workplace face to face to change their files.

When changing a driver’s licence, the following procedure will be carried out:

  • Registry representatives will confirm a candidate’s identity by searching for their image and signature to guarantee both match what is on file.
  • Registry representatives will confirm a candidate’s evacuee status by comparing their address on their automobile file, with a federal government list of impacted locations that is upgraded daily.
  • The representative will ask personal understanding confirmation concerns that just the candidate can address.
