WAVERLY, Ohio — Police say a lady is dealing with a toddler endangerment cost after her toddler discovered a gun in her purse and by accident fired it in a southern Ohio Walmart retailer final week.
The Waverly Police Department mentioned the girl advised officers who responded shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday that the 2-year-old boy took her Taurus 9mm firearm from her purse, and it went off.
Police mentioned the bullet went into the ceiling of the shop, and the kid was left with a minor harm to his brow “due to contact with the magazine.”
Police mentioned the girl, whose title wasn’t launched, was taken into custody and charged in Pike County Court with endangering kids. The boy was launched to the care of a guardian and brought to an pressing care facility, police mentioned.
Waverly police mentioned in an announcement on their Facebook web page that such incidents “underscore the need for heightened awareness and safety measures” and the division “emphasizes the importance of responsible firearm ownership and storage, especially those with children.”
