OVIEDO, Fla. – An Oviedo couple’s dog is on the roadway to healing after he was attacked by a 12-foot gator in Riverside Park.
Kylee Nyiri and her sweetheart Fisher Greene were having fun with their dog Mako, when the gator dragged the family pet under the water. “When he was going to go after the ball, and it went to the side, the gator got him,” she said. He was undersea for a couple of seconds.
Greene’s very first impulse was to get the predator’s tail and raise it. The action, integrated with Kylee’s screams sufficed to release the dog. “It was certainly a ‘go time’ kind of thing. No time to believe, Greene said. “I figured perhaps I would’ve had some take advantage of. But as far as a strategy. I didn’t have one.”
