Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority representative Sherri Ly verified the event. She said authorities do not understand how the crawling strap-hanger got onto the train.
“It did not have a farecard and plainly slipped onto the train without tapping in,” Ly informed WDVM-TV.
Ly said the train was gotten rid of from service and parked in the WMATA backyard over night with its doors open. She said animal control officers browsed the railcar the next day and verified the snake had actually left by itself.
WMATA reported some delays as an outcome of the train being gotten of service.
