Puri: Two youths had a bitter experience in a hotel when its owner attempted them to take any action after they discovered a dead lizard in the biryani served to them in Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday.
According to sources, the youths had actually gone to a family restaurant situated in the market of Chandanpur near Puri town. They purchased 2 plates of chicken biryani. While having the biryani, among them discovered a dead lizard inside it and grumbled to the hotel owner.
Instead of apologising or altering the food, the hotel owner apparently misbehaved with the youths. When they said they would grumble to the food safety officer of the location, he said he did not care for anyone and they can do something about it they liked.
“The hotel owner did not heed our complaint. Instead, he told us to have the biryani or leave it and he would not do anything about. When we pointed out that the food had been poisoned and he should not serve it to other customers, he scolded us in foul language,” said the youths.
They likewise launched the video of the lizard in the biryani to media and interested individuals to make sure while having food in the hotel.
