WEST FARGO — When the West Fargo Police Department brought K-9 Bella into the fold in 2022 as a convenience dog for West Fargo Public School structures, School Resource Officer Dora Roll understood she’d be a struck with the kids.
“So much so that even my schools were requesting her,” Roll said. “So considering that we have many schools, and it’s tough for Bella to make her method around through all of them, the school asked for a 2nd.”
That’s how Labby, a ten-month-old goldendoodle from Florida made her method to the Peace Garden State. Labby got her name from Labby’s Bar and Grill, who contributed the money to adopt her.
She’s in training today to be a qualified treatment dog, following Officer Role around West Fargo grade schools. She’s calm, thoughtful, and charming as a button. She’s even hypoallergenic.
“She will come near you without being asked simply to look at you to see if you’re all right,” Roll said. “I am not constantly the important things that can help them turn their day around and having a dog that is sweet may be that bridge required in the schools.”
In simply a brief time, trainees in West Fargo Public Schools will get their own time with Labby as she patrols the halls, offering convenience as required.
