VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — A man is dealing with numerous charges for supposedly assaulting his elderly moms and dads, a next-door neighbor, and the next-door neighbor’s dog in North San Diego County early Wednesday early morning.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, 49-year-old Barry Knowlton is charged with tried murder, felony older abuse, robbery, and cruelty to animals.
The attacks began right before 6 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of Via Christina in Vista.
Deputies state Knowlton choked his mom numerous times and punched his daddy in the face. He then continued to get on top of his daddy and choked him while covering his mouth to stop him from breathing.
After assaulting his moms and dads, Knowlton supposedly got into a next-door neighbor’s house and assaulted a lap dog prior to entering a battle with the next-door neighbor.
SDSO says once authorities came to the scene, Knowlton was detained without occurrence and required to the Vista Detention Facility where he is booked on his charges.
The moms and dads received injuries to their neck and face from the attack and were dealt with at the scene by paramedics. The next-door neighbor just had a hand injury, and the dog is recuperating from its injuries.
