The suspect then apparently left your home, required entry to a nearby home, assaulted the dog and battled with a local there.

Deputies reacting to an emergency situation call reporting the supposed rampage took Knowlton into custody without event.

“The elderly victims were treated at the scene for injuries to their neck and face,” Orsini said. “The neighbor was treated for a hand injury. The dog is also recovering from its injuries.”

Knowlton was booked into county prison in Vista on suspicion of 2 counts each of tried murder and senior abuse, together with charges of break-in and cruelty to an animal. He was being held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
