ROME — A Rome Police officer is recuperating after being bitten by a dog while facing a suspect at a Sixth Street home, according to the Rome Police Department.
Patrolman Anthony A. Calandra is anticipated to go back to responsibility soon, authorities said.
Police said Justin E. Bean, 34, of Rome, was associated with a domestic conflict with a lady at the Madison Plaza Apartments around 1:50 p.m. July 29, in infraction of an order of security submitted versus him. Police said he took $20 from the female. Officers started a look for Bean, and Officer Calandra went to an understood area on Sixth Street.
Calandra spotted Bean in a yard, cops said, and chased him into a residence. Calandra tried to take Bean into custody in the cooking area, at which point a dog bit Calandra, cops specified. He suffered injuries to his ideal calf and knee and was later on required to Rome Health, authorities said.
