Police have issued an update after a “beautiful and blissful” canine was mauled to demise in a Merseyside park.
May Barton was walking her twin sister, Edna Walker’s canine in Derby Park, Bootle on the afternoon of Friday, March 22, a part of her traditional route. It was right here that niece, Tracey Walker says one-year-old Cavapoo, Timmy was viciously attacked by what they think may have been a “Pitbull cross”.
The 53-year-old stated Timmy was left with a punctured abdomen which in the end led to his demise. She instructed the ECHO: “My auntie takes Timmy on the identical route with the identical folks day-after-day. The different canine got here from nowhere and he or she tried to tug it off.

“The proprietor ran off with their canine and Timmy began to run off out the park to go home. She ran after him however he was in a foul means with a punctured abdomen. She took him to the vet however they stated they could not do something extra for him.”
Now, Merseyside Police have spoken out, confirming that enquiries are ongoing to establish the proprietor of the Pitbull-type canine and the circumstances of the incident, which they have been referred to as to at round 1.35pm.
Tracey’s mum is reportedly “devastated” after the incident. Her daughter stated Timmy was beloved by the group. She stated: “He was a gorgeous pleasant little factor. He was beautiful and blissful and everybody knew and beloved him. It’s so unhappy, folks will say ‘it is solely a canine’ however we get connected to them.
“My mum is inconsolable. What if a baby had been round?”
In the times after the information broke, many ECHO readers have voiced their unhappiness and concern. Jacqui Taylor stated: “This is so unhappy, felt sick once I learn this. The household should be heartbroken. I’ve a Cavapoo aged two, l could not think about how they’re feeling.”
Dot Barraclough added: “Why do not they maintain them on a lead the place different canine walkers are? Poor factor – only one 12 months old.” Pauline Davies stated: “Just no want for it. Heartbreaking.”
