WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – National Adoption Week wrapped up as we speak March 24, and two teams had been at PetSmart in Wichita Falls; Texas Pit Crew and the Graham Humane Society of Young County.

This week has been one to encourage individuals to undertake dogs out of shelters fairly than purchasing or going to again yard breeders.

You might see the love every of those dogs had, prepared to provide all of it to their new household.

“This is National Adoption week, we usually set up here one weekend a month or so, trying to raise awareness for the puppies and big dogs and everything in the community that are up for adoption,” Texas Pit Crew Dog Foster, Ricky Myatt mentioned.

There had been loads of dogs to go see, from puppies to senior dogs, energetic playful pups, and a few sofa potatoes.

The Humane Society had one adoption Saturday, March 23, and the Texas Pit Crew had one as we speak.

“So today has kind of been a slow day. Yesterday was a busy day, we had one adoption yesterday. I think the weather is probably playing a part in today. Nobody wants to get out, it’s a little gross outside. But yeah, the dogs just really like the interaction with different people and to get some attention,” Graham Humane Society Board President, Heather Allen mentioned.

“Of course we don’t have all of our puppies here, we’ve got a book full of them, of all the ones that are up for adoption. I love it, of course you can see I’m a dog guy, so I love dogs,” Myatt mentioned.

At the occasion our crew met a senior canine named Burrito, who would make an ideal lap canine.

“He’s around eight years old I believe, and he’s ready to fid his home. He’s a couch potato, just wants a couch or a bed and he’s a happy guy,” Allen mentioned.

If you missed the occasion and adoption week, you’re not too late. You can at all times verify in and take a look at who’s prepared for his or her perpetually home by visiting a shelter.
