Novato authorities booked a murder suspect early Saturday after a shooting in the Hamilton location.
The criminal activity occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Friday on Martin Drive in the Lanham Village area, according to the Novato Police Department. Police, reacting to reports about shooting, discovered a man and a dog who had actually been shot to death on the back patio of a residence.
Police apprehended 2 males at the residence and determined among them — Paul Henry Dwight, 65 — as the suspected killer. Investigators identified that Dwight and the dead man were roomies who had actually had a disagreement over their housing plans.
Investigators booked Dwight into the Marin County Jail at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of murder and animal cruelty. He is being held without a bail quantity while the examination continues.
