A lady who supposedly attacked council animal compliance officers on a North-West beach has actually rejected the charges put versus her.
According to The Advocate, Penguin dog owner Judith Elizabeth Murphy was verbally violent towards council officers at Johnson’s Beach in February 2022, prior to supposedly punching an officer 3 times in the shoulder and striking her with a dog leash.
The event followed Murphy declined to reveal her dog’s registration tag in an expected off-lead location for dogs.
A member of the general public who saw the occasion informed the court the officers were being “quite aggressive” in the method they were speaking with Murphy, stating they might “seize her dog and have it put down”.
Judith Murphy pleaded innocent to the charges, and the hearing will resume in September.
