Nancy Pelosi claims Trump appeared like a ‘terrified puppy’ throughout his D.C. court look – since he ‘understands he lost the election and now needs to deal with the music’

  • Pelosi took a dig at Trump when again following his Thursday hearing
  • ‘He looked extremely, extremely, extremely worried about the fate,’ she said

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to pick apart former President Donald Trump‘s tough guy image, saying her rival looked like a ‘scared puppy’ during his court appearance Thursday.

Pelosi, who repeatedly clashed with Donald Trump during his presidency, offered her take on video images of Trump’s historic arraignment on four charges related to his election overturn effort.

The California lawmaker, now called speaker emerita, ridiculed Trump hours after he pleaded not guilty after glancing at special counsel Jack Smith inside a federal courthouse.

‘I wasn’t in the courtroom, of course. But when I saw his coming out of his car and this or that, I saw a scared puppy,’ she said, after Trump flew into Washington for his 27-minute hearing before a U.S. magistrate judge, then addressed cameras and blasted the city where he served four years.

‘He looked very, very, very concerned about the fate,’ Pelosi told interview Andrea Mitchell. ‘I didn’t see any bravado or confidence or anything like that. He knows he knows the truth, that he lost the election and now he’s got to face the music,’ she said.

Trump offered his own commentary on Thursday. He spoke of his ‘persecution’ and called it a ‘sad day,’ then tore into the city where Pelosi lived and worked for decades while maintaining her primary home in San Francisco.

‘And it was also very sad driving through Washington, D.C., and seeing the filth and the decay, and all of the broken buildings and walls, and the graffiti. This is not the place that I left. It’s a very sad thing to see it,’ Trump said about his brief drive past monuments while motoring from Reagan National Airport to the courthouse.

Pelosi experienced several memorable moments during the Trump presidency. She was filmed by her daughter using her mouth to open a bag of beef jerky from a secure location amid the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

She presided over two Trump impeachments, and famously ripped up her copy of his speech following a combative State of the Union address. In 2017, Trump called her out for ‘Nervous Nancy’s unhinged meltdown!’ following an angry White House meeting

But her office thanked him for sending out an image of her confronting the president.

In her MSNBC appearance, she called it a ‘very prayerful time.’

She also credited the House January 6 Committee, which she created after a dispute with then-minority leader Kevin McCarthy over its composition.

‘I’m very proud of the work of the January 6th committee, which laid the foundation, created a path for us to get to this place, to seek the truth.’
