With Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone now well in progress, a brand-new package has actually gone on sale that might be the shooter’s most lovable yet.
The game has introduced the concept of Tactical Pets in the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5 Battle Pass, but so far the only way to get a dog has been to pick up the premium Blackcell pass including the operator Arthur and his dog Merlin. However, now a brand-new War Hound package is available in the store to buy complete with Precious Cargo – a skin featuring an absolutely precious pupper riding along in a backpack.
After several months of bemoaning below-par bundles in MW2, many over on the ModernWarfareII subreddit, gamers are begrudgingly admitting this will be one they’ll have to pick up. “Nooooo, I can’t shoot him in the back…” says norestforthewitcher. “I NEED IT.” yells the aptly-named ddogc “LOOK AT THE PUPPY. LOOK AT IT!” and BackFromTheDead adds “The skin itself already looks great but the dog is just perfection.”
There was even more joy to be found though when it became apparent that the puppy is based on a real life dog – social media star Tactical Taz confirmed via their Instagram page that they are indeed the inspiration behind this new addition. “I wasn’t all the way in on it, but now I am,” said SilverMagnum after the revelation. “That’s adorable.”
For those worried about taking such an adorable puppy onto the battlefield – don’t worry, the dog cannot get shot or hurt by the looks – which is the same as goes for Merlin. Alas, there is one major difference in the fact for the moment it doesn’t seem like the puppy gets involved in any finishing moves like his larger counterpart – which many think is a missed opportunity. Still, if you have the 2000 Call of Duty points spare, you can pick it up right now in the in-game store.
