Opinion: Shooting a wayward 18-month-old pup is not considered one of life’s ‘powerful selections.’ It’s taking the straightforward (and heartless) approach out.

The first message I received concerning the dog-killing Republican governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem, was:

“Until I heard what Noem did I thought there was no female politician in America who, by comparison, could make Kari Lake look almost normal.”

Almost.

I get the purpose.

Voters will forgive politicians for every type of sins, every kind of unhealthy habits, all method of merciless, even heartless, deeds.

But shooting an 18-month-old dog for being “untrainable” ain’t considered one of them.

Noem used canine homicide to plug her e-book

And bragging about it in a e-book, as was finished by Noem, makes it worse.

Then, when there was social media backlash, using the incident to plug your book added a fair sleazier layer of disgust, when Noem stated on X, previously Twitter: “We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm.

“Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years. If you want more real, honest, and politically INcorrect stories that’ll have the media gasping, preorder ‘No Going Back’”

All this from a person Donald Trump is contemplating to be his potential vice presidential working mate.

Talk about going to the dogs.

Shooting a wayward 18-month-old pup shouldn’t be considered one of life’s “tough decisions.” It’s taking the straightforward (and heartless) approach out.

We owned an ‘untrainable’ canine for years

Years in the past, our household adopted a black and white all-American-looking canine we referred to as Jack from a rescue group close to Apache Junction.

As a wayward youth, Jack was trapped by a coyote wrangler and was stated to have been dwelling with a combined pack of dogs and coyotes on the outskirts of the desert.

He was, everybody stated, “untrainable.”

The vet we took him to advised us we would have liked to get one other canine who is likely to be to show our rescue pup find out how to be a canine.

We did.

Jack tailored, as so did we, and he fortunately lived to be 18, whereas Minnie, his “trainer” and companion, lived to be 17.

Being “untrainable,” for a canine, doesn’t imply it’s unfit.

Being clueless, for a vice presidential candidate, does.
