KATHIE’S KORNER — Dog days of July 2023
Published 12:02 am Saturday, July 15, 2023
Everyday is Dog Day at my home. My Great Dane, Candy, firmly insists, carefully.
Most individuals think about “dog days of summer” as unpleasant, hot, clammy days, and they’ve really been offered a timeline: July 3 through Aug. 11.
Some think that dogs slouch, and have no activity in the heat.
There are constantly concerns like, do snakes go blind, dogs freak? Don’t let a black cat cross your course or you shouldn’t swim in high heat temperature levels. Getting wet in the rain may offer you an acute rhinitis (keep in mind, we’re water evidence) or don’t pet unusual dogs (constantly ask their owner).
Historically and astronomically, there’s a so-called, worrying, amount of time taped following the rising of Star System Sirius. It is really called, naturally, “The Brightest Star in the Sky, The Dog Star.”
The Bible has a couple of positive stories consisting of dogs who went hunting with Kings and their team, likewise to clean-up in the streets, and guard dogs.
Proverbs 12:10 says, “A righteous man (one in right standing with God) takes good care of his animals.”
The late Pastor Jack Hayford at Church On The Way in California, a pastoral friend to Mike and I, commented (years ago) in an enjoyable discussion after service that he believes after taking pleasure in having animals of his own, that God provided us animals for our satisfaction with accompanying laughter and play time.
A last idea from confidential.
God said, “I require someone strong enough to pull sleds, discover bombs and controlled substances, guard individuals and property, yet mild adequate to enjoy infants and comfort the elderly, lead the blind, someone who will spend throughout the day on the sofa resting their head (maybe on your preferred pillow) and helpful, even who will, passionately, raise the spirits of dissatisfactions or a damaged heart, so, keep in mind, God Made A Dog!
So, don’t get all down on dogs. Get in your a/c and keep in mind the Dog Star, the brightest in the sky.
