An off-leash canine that fatally injured one other canine on Willows Beach has been euthanized by its homeowners.
Carol Parlow was walking her canine with a leash on Tuesday morning when an off-leash canine ran as much as him. The different canine bit and shook her 10-year-old chihuahua combine, named Champ.
Champ was put down following the attack when it grew to become clear that he couldn’t survive his accidents.
Parlow stated on Saturday that the household who owns the opposite canine has since come ahead to animal management.
The household has taken full responsiblity for the incident and has provided to compensate her vet payments, she stated. “I don’t know much more about the circumstances, but they euthanized their dog … there are two very sad families now.”
Willows Beach — like a lot of Greater Victoria’s shoreline — is a part of the Victoria Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary, which doesn’t permit for dogs and cats to run at giant beneath the high-tide line.
Those violating the principles can face a big positive, however leash guidelines aren’t at all times adopted.
Parlow stated she continues to see many off-leash dogs on Willows Beach.
“I would like that the rules be clarified and enforced,” she stated. “I think people still haven’t gotten the message.”
